Microsoft Teams FAQ

June 25, 2024 | Tech Support

What is Microsoft Teams?

Microsoft Teams is a live web conferencing tool used for live class sessions, workshops, one-on-one tutoring sessions, and CIAT virtual events.

Where can I download Teams?

Download the Microsoft Teams software to your computer to access all available features including screen-sharing, chat, custom backgrounds, and more. Make sure you login using your CIAT email address.

How do I get invited to my live classes through Teams?

If you are joining a live class session, you’ll see an email invitation providing access to the virtual classroom. You should receive access to your classes by the Friday before your class is set to begin. If you don’t see the classroom available in Microsoft Teams at that time, please contact IT by submitting a support request.

Are live classes available for every class?

Live classes are available for most classes – we encourage you to attend these whenever possible. Your primary instructor for your specific section may not be the instructor for the live session.   You can find the contact information for your primary instructor on your class syllabus.
